SDG Investment Forum during the 78th UN General Assembly

The UN Global Compact CFO Coalition for the SDGs, GISD, PRI and UNEP FI will host an SDG Investment Forum during the UN 78^th General Assembly and will bring together high-level representatives from companies, banks, financial institutions and international organizations, including CFOs, CIOs and other Executives. This September the forum will focus on raising the momentum and credibility of companies’ investment and financing for the SDGs. It will showcase strategic partnerships with GISD, PRI, UNEP-FI, SBTi, CBI and other key actors in the ecosystem for sustainable finance.

With a focus on climate, CFOs and other key actors in the investment community will discuss how the triangulation of targets (including SBTs), investments, and financing toward the SDGs is the key to increasing companies’ credibility in front of stakeholders and shareholders. It will also showcase how direct, real economy investments in critical areas of sustainable development can unlock scalable private sector contributions to the SDGs, supporting key priorities on the UN Secretary-General’s agenda.

To broaden and accelerate this agenda the UN Global Compact is launching its Forward Faster campaign, challenging its companies to commit to ambitious targets in five key areas for further progress on the SDGs — including Finance and Investments.

The meeting will take place during the United Nation’s 78^th General Assembly following the UN Private Sector Forum and the UN Global Compact Leaders Summit, meetings that will convene corporate executives, finance Chiefs and Heads of State to mobilize the private sector's response to the delay in capital deployment towards the Agenda 2030.
